Karisma kapoor: Is she the better sister?

This fair green-eyed beauty, a talented actress and also an accomplished dancer is none other than Karisma Kapoor. Karishma kapoor was born on 25th June in 1974 in Mumbai, India. She belongs to the first family of the Indian film industry, the Kapoor family and is the daughter of popular yesteryear film stars Randhir Kapoor and Babita. She made her debut in the year 1991 with the film ‘Prem Qaidi’ which became an average hit. Karisma has many hit films in her kitty like ‘Anari’, ‘Jeet’ , ‘Coolie No. 1’ , ‘Raja Hindustani’ , ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ and many more. Her onscreen pair with popular actors Govinda and Salman Khan is very successful.

In 1996, Karisma kapoor was paired opposite Aamir Khan in the Dharmesh Darshan directed movie ‘Raja Hindustani’. The movie was the highest grosser of the year and changed the course of Karisma’s acting career forever. She won her first ‘Filmfare Best Actress Award’ for this movie. The following year Karisma starred along with Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the blockbuster ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. The film was produced and directed by Yash Chopra. Karisma’s fabulous performance won her ‘National Award’ in the best actress category. Karisma won her second Filmfare award in the best actress category for the film ‘Fiza’ which was directed by Khalid Mohammad. After her marriage in the in 2003, Karisma kapoor has not been doing films but she is sure to make a grand comeback in a year or two.

Both these films established her permanent place in Bollywood and also as a powerful actress of the industry. Rani Mukherjee has appeared in a number of movies till now and the most successful are ‘‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ , ‘Black’, ‘Bunty Aur Bubly’, ‘Saathiya’ and many more. Her performance of a blind and deaf and dumb girl in Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed ‘Black’ is the best till date. One thing that comes to mind when talking about Hrithik Roshan is that he is drop dead handsome. There are very few actors in Bollywood who are as good-looking as Hrithik Roshan. This 1974 born Capricorn is the son of popular yesteryear actor and also a successful present day director Rakesh Roshan. Hrithik’s acting career started as a child actor. He has appeared in many films as a child actor in the 1980s two of which are ‘Aapke Deewane’ and ‘Bhagwan Dada’ where he played the role of young Rakseh Roshan.

Before making into films as a leading actor, Hrithik Roshan had assisted his actor-director father in Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Kajol starrer ‘Karan Arjun’ in1995 and also Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit starrer ‘Koyla’ in 1997. His debut movie, which was directed and produced by his father, was ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ which was released in the year 2000. This movie proved to be very successful at the box office and was the highest grosser of 2000.

Hrithik Roshan won both the ‘Filmfare Best Male Debu’ and also the ‘Filmfare Best Male Actor’ awards. After this movie, he appeared in number of other movies, which fared poorly in the Box Office. Hrithik’s comeback movie was ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ which was both produced and directed by his father. This was his second hit and opened the door for more hit movies like ‘Krrish’, ‘Dhoom 2’, ‘Jodha-Akbar’. Hrithik is a very talented actor and he is sure to give his audiences more memorable movies.

Anil Kapoor is a prominent Bollywood actor who has been entertaining the audiences for many decades. This popular and talented actor of the Indian cinema started his career of acting in films with the film ‘Hamara Tumhare’ which came in 1979. The movie was directed by Umesh Mehra and here he had a supporting role. The movie where Anil played hid first leading role was in a Kannada film ‘Pallavi Anu Pallavi’ that came in the year 1983. In Yash Chopra’s ‘Mashaal’ in 1984, Anil Kapoor played a very significant role for which he won acclaim. This film fetched his first award ‘Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award’.

The 1987 release of the sci-fi film ‘Mr. India’ which was directed by Shekahr Kapur got him more recognition. The other film for which he won his second ‘Filmfare Best Actor Award’ was for Indra Kumar’s ‘Beta’. In both these films he was paired opposite Madhuri Dixit. Anil has a perfect comic timing and his comic role in films like ‘No Entry’, ‘Biwi No.1’ are most noteworthy. He has even won the National Award for best actor for his wonderful performance in the movie ‘Pukar’. Anil has been a producer of a number of films which include ‘Badhaai Ho Baadhai’ , ‘My Wife’s Murder’ and ‘Gandhi, My Father’. This last mentioned film dealt with the relationship between Mahatma Gandhi and his eldest son Hiralal Gnadhi.
