Carol, the dusky beauty

Carol Gracias, a name that has been murmuring in our ears since her debut into the modeling circuit. She is one of the most beautiful models of India. Her birth place is Mumbai and her birthday falls on 28th day of December, 1978. This dusky girl has won the much renowned title of “ Look of the year” presented by L’Oreal/Elite. She has a unique style of modeling which shot her to fame. Carol who is famous for her long legs dotes on her younger brother. She feels that her family is important to her more than anything. Her friends often describe Carol as fun loving. Her vibrant personality adds to her ambitious nature and her assured confidence makes her a real winner. She is a known face in the ramp.

Among some of the things that she believes, Carol feels that education is a must especially for women and she is even interested in doing a PHD in child psychology. She has even been a part of Bollywood. In the movie ‘Being Cyrus’ which was released in 2005, Carol has done a cameo. She even appeared in the music video of another release of 2005 ‘Bluffmaster’, which starred Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. In the Indian version of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ named ‘Bigg Boss’, Carol was one of the housemates. The show was produced by Endemol India for Sony Entertainment where she finished runner-up. If it is believed height paves way for everything then Carol is sure winner because she is blessed with a height of 5′ 8½”. She has a very promising career ahead.

Sarah Jane: the next big thing

One of the newest girls to hit the ramp is Sarah Jane Dias. A Mumbai based Indian model, and a former VJ of Channel V, she won the Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2007 title. She did her schooling up to class X from Indian School Wadi Al Kabir, and her plus two from Indian School Muscat. Her father, Eustace Dias is a marketing manager with Oilfields Supply Centre in Muscat.

At the age of 14 in 1997, she won the Miss India Oman title, which was sponsored by the Times of India. Sarah-Jane Dias was trained to be a model under Atul Kelkar. She won a talent hunt contest on TV when she was 21 years of age. This gave her a chance to host a show of Channel V. In ‘On The Run’, which is travel show of Channel V, she was first noticed as a guest. A well known face in the glamour industry, she hosted the show of ‘Get Gorgeous’, supermodel hunt on Channel V. She had always dreamt of winning the Miss India crown, which became true in 2007.

This confident model is interested in building a career in the field of music and food. Her voice and the capability to talk to anyone adds to her powerful personality. She will soon step in Bollywood with her film ‘Brides Wanted’ directed by Girish Acharya. This famous model wishes to travel around the world. She is a prominent name of the glamour industry.

Well it’s not everyday that you find children of established individuals turn to career options other than those that are almost embedded in the family. Well here’s a different story. With her father being a leading sportsperson, anyone would expect the demure and athletic bodied Deepika to easily follow suit. Furthermore she even had the lovely height and agility needed. However this pretty lady chose differently.

From being the known face for leading brands, she’s carved for herself a comfortable and secure position to get her anywhere in the world of Indian entertainment. From being the fresh faced model that walked all popular local and international ramps to being the print face for leading beauty and apparel brands, she’s finally made her foray into Indian cinema. Yes the luring Bollywood that attracts so many. We’re yet to make a judgment on her acting skills, but being cast with lead actor Shah Rukh Khan tells a lot for a beginner’s story. This certainly is the much awaited verdict of the year. It isn’t everyday that a youngster travels the globe with such poise and elegance. Deepika certainly has done the hard work. In such a short span of time she’s seen the heights of glory in the modeling fraternity and chosen to make a career shift in les than no time. With her goals set straight, doesn’t seem like there’s’ much that can hold back this dimpled beauty.
