The name known to every Indian young, old, big and small is Rakhi Sawant. She is an Indian model and also an actress of Bollywood. She is better known for her dancing skills, than for her acting capabilities. She is the daughter of a Mumbai policeman. This straightforward item girl of the film industry has always been hitting the headlines for some reasons or the other. Rakhi Sawant has started her career as a bar dancer. Her school is Goklibai School. She made her breakthrough in 2003 as an item dancer in the film ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne’, the song she featured in was an item number ‘Mohabbat hai mirchi’ which became a huge hit.

This popular item girl,Rakhi Sawant, was one of the housemates in the 2006 show ‘Bigg Boss’ which is the Indian version of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ produced by Endemol India for Sony Entertainment. Recently in 2007 she along with Abhishek Awasti, had participated in ‘Nach Baliye 3’, which was aired in Star Plus. She and her partner ended up being the runner-up, losing the crown to Amir Ali and Sanjida Sheikh. Rakhi Sawant is also a lifetime member of the International Film and Television Club of Asian Academy of Film and Television. Abhishek Bachchan , better known as Junior B is a very versatile actor of the Indian film industry. Abhsihek is the son of the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and the versatile actress Jaya Bachchan. Abhishek was born on February 5, 1976 in Mumbai , India and had attended the Jamnabai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai. He has also studied in the Aiglon College in Switzerland and has completed his education from Boston University.

Abhishek’s first movie was ‘Refugee’ which was directed by the renowned filmmaker J.P.Dutta, it was also the debut movie of Kareena Kapoor. The movie released in the year 2000 and Abhishek was appreciated for his performance. Then came a bunch of other movies most of which were a failure at the box office.

In 2004, Abhishek delivered his first hit with the movie ‘Yuva’ which was directed by Mani Ratnam and had Rani Mukherjee , Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Vivek Oberoi and Esha Deol in the lead. In this movie, Abhishek gave a critically acclaimed performance and he earned his first award ‘Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Male’. His other 2004 hits include ‘Dhoom’ where he played the role of a cop. This movie helped to establish himself as one of the leading actors of Bollywood. Abhishek was also part of Mani Ratnam’s stage show ‘Netru, Indru, Naalai’. Minnisha Lamba is the new face in the film industry. This pretty girl hails from a Punjabi speaking Sikh family. She was born on 1st January in New Delhi. This Indian actress is well-placed in Bolywood. Minnisha has done majors in English and her education is from Miranda House, Delhi. Shahid Kapur lists among the future generation super stars of Bollywood. This next-door boy look actor was born on 25th February 1981 in Maharastra, India. His father is the renowned and critically acclaimed actor Pankaj Kapur and his mother is the classical dancer and actress Neelima Azmi. He did his schooling from Raj Hans. He was in the dancing troupe of Shaimak Davar. Besides being a good actor, Shahid Kapur is also a great dancer. In each song where he has danced, he has given life to those songs. His first on-screen appearance was in a music video for the bands of Aryans. The song where he featured went on to become a chart buster. At the age of 18, Shahid Kapur got an opportunity to feature in a Pepsi advertisement, which had Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee.

It was with in 2003 with the movie ‘Ishq-Vishk’ directed by Ken Ghosh when Shahid Kapur got his first breakthrough. This peppy college romance was also the first film for Amrita Rao and Mtv VJ Shenaz Treasurywala. This candyfloss romantic flick earned Shahid many accolades and fans and was big hit. He received the Hero Cycles stardust Award and Filmfare Award for the best New Comer of the year 2003 for his debut film ‘Ishq Vishk’. This adorable looking actor has immense potential his film ‘Jab We Met’ directed by Imitiaz Ali, which also starred Kareena Kapoor, was one of the biggest hit of 2007. The two things that come to mind when we talk of Sonam Kapoor is that she is beautifully elegant and she is immensely talented. Sonam Kapoor is the daughter of the famous actor of Bollywood Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor. Born on 9th June, 1985 in Chembur Bombay she recently debuted in Bollywood movies. She is the niece of the renowned film-maker and producer Bonny Kapoor and actor Sanjay Kapoor. Sonam has studied in Arya Vidya Mandir and then was enrolled in the United World College of South East Asia for doing her International Baccalaureate.

Sonam kapoor has graduated from University of Mumbai in Political Science. She is a trained classical and Latin dancer. Before she made into films, she has worked as an assistant under Sanjay Lila Banshali. She has assisted Bhansali during the making of the famous film ‘Black’. She has made her debut in 2007, in the movie ‘Saawaariya’ directed by the renowned film maker Sanjay Lila Bhansali. This movie also proved to the debut movie of Ranbir Kapoor, son of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor.

The film also starred Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee. It was during the making of ‘Black’ that Sanjay chose Sonam kapoor for the film ‘Saawaariya’. For this movie Sonam had to shed her weight as she had gained lots during studying abroad. The movie ‘Saawaariya’ has earned her critical appreciation. Her latest films include ‘Delhi 6’ of Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra and one under the Yashraj banner opposite Sharukh Khan.

The film was a huge grosser of 2006 and it changed the pattern of movies in the film industry. The movie was both critically and commercially successful. The film gave Kunal Kapoor the nomination of ‘Filmfare Best Supporting Actor’. After ‘RDB’ it is famously called came a number of movies which include ‘Hattrick’, ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’and ‘Aaja Naachle’.
