Gul panag

This dimple-cheeked beauty, Gul Panag, has remained the former Miss India. She won this prestigious crown in the year 1999. She has also competed for the Miss Universe pageant and came 6th at the event. Gul is from a family, which has an Army background. Gul Panag’s father is a Lieutenant General in the Indian Army and presently is the Army Commander of the Northern Command. In the year 1979, in Chandigarh, India, Gul was born on 3rd January.

Gul Panag had to change some 14 schools as her father was in a transferable job. Her schools include Kendriya Vidyalaya in the Sector 31 of Chandigarh and Lawrence School, Lovedale Ooty. Gul has completed her bachelor degree in Maths from Punjab University, Patiala and her masters in Political Science from Punjab University. Before winning the Miss India pageant, Gul has also won the Colgate Miss Beautiful Smile contest in Chennai. After winning the Miss India crown, film offers came flooding in and also various music videos and advertisements. She is most beautiful and glamorous looking actress of Indian films. Gul panag has now a very high position in the glamour world. She has done serials named ‘Dhoop’ and ‘Kashmeer’. Jiah Khan

Jiah Khan is sexy and smart and she is a household name today. She is known more for her foreign accent and sex appeal than for her acting. Jiah Khan was born in New York on 20th February. She is the daughter of a Muslim Indian American, Ali Rizvi Khan and actress Rabia Amim. Though Jiah was born in New York, she grew up in London. After Angelina Jolie’s movie GIA, Jaih Khan changed her name from Nafisa to Jiah. She has completed her A levels in film studies and literature in London. Jiah has also been a student of Lee Strasberg Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. She made her debut in the year 2007 with the film ‘Nishabd’. It was a much debated and controversial movie directed by Ram Gopal Verma where she played the love interest of a much old person, played by Amitabh Bachchan. The film although received mixed reviews, began Jiah Khan’s career at Bollywood in style.

Jiah Khan has got yet another golden opportunity to share screen with Aamir Khan and Asin Thottumkal in A.R. Murugadoss’s Ghajini Hindi remake. Sajid Khan of ‘Heyy Babyy’ fame has also signed Jiah for his next movie ‘Housefull’ which will also star Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone and Ritesh Deshmukh. Jaih’s childhood favorite movies are ‘Rangeela’ and ‘The Devil’s Advocate’. Koena Mitra: the next dance queen

Named after the renowned river in Bengal, Koena Mitra came to limelight after she won the Gladrags Supermodel Contest in 2002. Tusshar Kapoor

Made for the stars: Tusshar Kapoor. This Sagittarian is the son of actor Jeetendra, is famously known as the ‘jumping jack’ of Bollywood. Like his father, Tusshar Kapoor has also joined the big league of Bollywood actors. Tusshar Kapoor was born on November 24, 1976 and has studied at the University of Michigan. His sister Ekta Kapoor is the creative head of Balaji Films, which produces numerous popular soaps that come on Indian television. Tusshar Kapoor made his debut in the year 2001 with the film ‘Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai’. He was paired opposite Kareena Kapoor who is also the daughter of yesteryear actors – Randhir Kapoor and Babita Kapoor. The film was huge box office hit and the film earned Tusshar to fetch his first award ‘Filmfare Best Male Debut Award’. He has shared the screen with his father in the thriller ‘Kuch To Hai’ in the year 2003. The film ‘Gayab’ which was released in the year 2004 gave Tusshar criticail acclaim. Under this Prawal Raman’s direction, Tusshar had played the role of a nerd who becomes invisible in the course of the time.

Tusshar Kapoor gave powerful performance in the movie ‘Khakee’ which was released in 2004 and also had Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead. Amrita Arora has a great year ahead

Amrita Arora, the Indian actress is better known for being the sister of Maliaka Arora Khan. She is the younger sister of the model and popular item dancer of Bollywood, Maliaka Arora Khan. Amrita was born on 31st January, 1978 in Mumbai , India. This 5′ 4 1/2″ tall woman started her career as a model and has appeared in various hit music videos, the one with Zayed Khan, ‘Disco 82’ was huge hit. Amrita has appeared in many commercials like Ponds, Elle 18, After Smoke, Sunsilk fruitiness and many more. Her first debut movie was ‘Kitne Door, Kitne Paas’ in 2002, the movie was directed by Mehul Kumar and she was paired opposite Fardeen Khan.

The film had failed miserably at the box office. It is known that she is a very close friend of the prominent Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor. Amrita’s first successful movie was ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ which was released in 2002. This Bollywood action comedy was directed by Vikram Bhatt and had Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Aftab Shivdashani in the lead. Here, in this film, Amrita was paired opposite Suneil Shetty. Amrita has appeared in the controversial film ‘Grilfriend’ in 2004 with Isha Koppikar. Irfan khan: From banegi apni baat to Namesake

The other Khan who is slowly and gradually gaining popularity not only because of his choice of films but also for his talent as an actor is Irfan Khan. Irfan Khan is an immensely talented actor who acts in Indian films, television and theatre. He earned a scholarship in to study at National School of Drama when he was studying for his M.A. in the year 1984. He graduated in the year 1987, and then he shifted to Mumbai. It is in this place that Irfan started acting in television. He has acted in serials like ‘Chanakya’, ‘Banegi Apni Baat’ and ‘Chandrakanta’ which were telecasted on Doordarshan.

He has even appeared in ‘Star Best Sellers’ and many more programs which came on television. Irfan has even played the role of the villain in the series named ‘Darr’ which was aired on Star Plus. Here he had played the role of a psycho killer and the series also had Kay Kay Menon. Irfan had appeared in the critically acclaimed movie of the 90s ‘Ek Doctor Ki Maut’ and ‘Such a Long Journey’. It was with the historical movie ‘The Warrior’ directed by the London-based director Asif Kapadia that took Irfan’s career to the top gear. The movie had stormed in international film festivals in 2001.With films like The Namesake (2007) and A Mighty Heart (2007), Irfan received recognition internationally. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan can be considered as one of the most beautiful women in the world. This former Miss World is a popular actress of Bollywood. Born on 1st November 1973, Aishwarya started her career as a model before coming into films. She was pursing architecture, when she began modeling and in 1994, she took part in the Miss India contest. However, she could not win the contest but won the prestigious title of Miss World later that year. It was after her winning this crown that Aishwarya became a known face and directors signed her for films.

Aishwarya’s first movie was ‘Iruvar’ which came in 1997 and was Mani Ratnam directed Tamil movie. Her first movie of Bollywood was ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’ where she was paired opposite Bobby Deol and was released in 1997. In the year 1999, Aishwarya appeared in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanaam’ which also starred prominent actors like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. This film fetched Aishwarya her ‘Filmfare’ award in the best actress category. This film established Aishwarya as one the leading actresses of Bollywood. Her other noted films include ‘Devdaas’ again directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starred Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit, this film earned her another ‘Filmfare’ award in the best actress category, ‘Mohabbatien’ with Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bhachchan palying her father and few more. She is the first Indian female to have been replicated in the Madame Tussaud’s wax museum in London.
