Rani Mukherjee is one of the finest female actresses of Bollywood of recent years. She hails from the famous Mukherjee family, which has been working in the film industry for generations. Each and every of her family members is connected to this glamour world in some way or the other. Her cousin is Kajol who is also a very popular and talented Bollywood actress. Rani was born on March 21, 1978 and she started her career in a Bengali movie ‘Biyer Phul’ in 1992, which was directed and produced by her father Ram Mukherjee.
Four years after she made her debut in Bollywood film ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Barat’ which was huge flop. In 1998, Rani’s first release was ‘Ghulam’ opposite Aamir Khan, this movie was a big hit that year. Her other release of the same year was ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ which was the directorial debut of Karan Johar and had Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead. Rani won her first award ‘Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Female’ for ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. Both these films established her permanent place in Bollywood and also as a powerful actress of the industry. Rani Mukherjee has appeared in a number of movies till now and the most successful are ‘‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ , ‘Black’, ‘Bunty Aur Bubly’, ‘Saathiya’ and many more. Her performance of a blind and deaf and dumb girl in Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed ‘Black’ is the best till date. Rani Mukherjee is one of the most talented actresses that Bollywood has ever produced.
