Rajpal Yadav

The man who has given comedy in films a new turn is Rajpal Yadav. Rajpal is well known actor of the Indian film industry. He is mainly known for his comedy roles, which he essays with perfection. Rajpal was born in a village called Kudra, which is in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He was raised in this same place. From a very tender age, Rajpal Yadav loved to acting and he always used to take part in ‘nautankis’, which is the traditional folk drama. He is a graduate in Arts and he has been a student of Bhartendu Natya Academy (B.N.A), which is in Lucknow, and he was there for two years, 1992-94. Rajpal then came to Delhi to join the Rashtriya Natya Vidyalaya or National School of Drama, from where he graduated in the year 1997. His first role was in the movie ‘Shool’ which came in the year 1999 and was directed by E. Niwas. The film had Manoj Bajpai, Raveena Tandon and Shayaji Shinde in the lead role. Though he had a small role, he had managed to make a mark and impress the audiences and critics. ‘Jungle’ which was directed by Ram Gopal Verma was a major turning point in Rajpal’s acting career. Here he played the role of the villain. The film gave Rajpal his first awards. Rajpal has played the leading role in the film ‘Main, Mere Patni Aur Woh’ opposite Rituparna Sengupta. His most appreciated performances as a comedian are in the films like ‘Hungama’, ‘Malamal Weekly’, ‘Waqt: The Race Against Time’ and ‘Chup Chup Ke’.
