The second-generation acting in the Deol family began with the debut of Sunny Deol. Sunny Deol is the son of the veteran actor of yesteryear Dharmendra. Sunny was born on October 19 in 1959 in New Delhi in India is a descendent of Punjab. He has a younger brother Bobby Deol who is also an actor of Bollywood and his cousin Abbay Deol has recently been into films. His debut movie was ‘Betaab’ which was released in 1983. The movie was a blockbuster and he was paired opposite Amrita Singh.
Sunny has always wanted to be an actor from his childhood and he went to England to join the Old Web Theatre in Birmingham for studying theatre and acting. His peak of his career was in the years 1983,1991, 1994 and 1998. The character of Arjun in the film with the same name established the action hero in Indian cinema. His portrayal of a jobless young man who is forced by situations to be gangster was very much appreciated. The breakthrough performance of Sunny Deol came in the film ‘Ghayal : The Wounded’ which was released in the year 1990.
