This dimple-cheeked beauty, Gul Panag, has remained the former Miss India. She won this prestigious crown in the year 1999. She has also competed for the Miss Universe pageant and came 6th at the event. Gul is from a family, which has an Army background. Gul Panag’s father is a Lieutenant General in the Indian Army and presently is the Army Commander of the Northern Command. In the year 1979, in Chandigarh, India, Gul was born on 3rd January.
Gul Panag had to change some 14 schools as her father was in a transferable job. Her schools include Kendriya Vidyalaya in the Sector 31 of Chandigarh and Lawrence School, Lovedale Ooty. Gul has completed her bachelor degree in Maths from Punjab University, Patiala and her masters in Political Science from Punjab University. Before winning the Miss India pageant, Gul has also won the Colgate Miss Beautiful Smile contest in Chennai.
