Atul Kulkarni

Listed among one of the most talented actors of the Indian film industry, Atul Kulkarni has acted in many Hindi and Marathi movies. He started acting on stage when he was in high school at Haribhai Devkaran High School. Atul started to take active parts in cultural gatherings when he was in college and while studying he joined the ‘Natya Aradhana’, a theatre group from Solapur. This group helped him to better himself and after working for two years in back stage, Atul at last got the opportunity to act. It was then he deiced to take acting as his career. Atul was a student of National School of Drama in New Delhi from 1992- 1995, he also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Dramatic Arts from the National School of Drama. His performance in the film ‘Hey Ram’ as Shriram Abhyakar won him his first ‘National Film Award’. Though he stared his career as a theatre person, he has won critical acclaim in films like ‘Page 3’ ,’Rang De Basanti’, ‘Chadni Bar’, ‘Satta’ ,’Khakee’ and many more. He has done many theatre which include: ‘Samudra’ a Marathi Play, ‘Chapha’ , ‘Natak’ and many more. Atul’s most noted Marathi films are ‘Devraee’ with Sonali Kulkarni and Mohan Agashe, ‘Chakwa’, ‘10-F (Dahavee Pha)’, ‘Vaastu Purush’ and ‘Bhet’. Atul is currently working on ‘Delhi 6’ which is directed by Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra, ‘Kacha Limbu’ and ‘Allha Ke Bande’. His Marathi movie ‘Maati May’( A Gravekeeper’s Tale) was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
