Aishwarya Rai Bachchan can be considered as one of the most beautiful women in the world. This former Miss World is a popular actress of Bollywood. Born on 1st November 1973, Aishwarya started her career as a model before coming into films. She was pursing architecture, when she began modeling and in 1994, she took part in the Miss India contest. However, she could not win the contest but won the prestigious title of Miss World later that year. It was after her winning this crown that Aishwarya became a known face and directors signed her for films.
Aishwarya’s first movie was ‘Iruvar’ which came in 1997 and was Mani Ratnam directed Tamil movie. Her first movie of Bollywood was ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’ where she was paired opposite Bobby Deol and was released in 1997. In the year 1999, Aishwarya appeared in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanaam’ which also starred prominent actors like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. This film fetched Aishwarya her ‘Filmfare’ award in the best actress category. This film established Aishwarya as one the leading actresses of Bollywood. Her other noted films include ‘Devdaas’ again directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starred Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit, this film earned her another ‘Filmfare’ award in the best actress category, ‘Mohabbatien’ with Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bhachchan palying her father and few more. She is the first Indian female to have been replicated in the Madame Tussaud’s wax museum in London.
